R&D
Since its foundation, 4Plus participates
actively in several cooperative research projects in order to
improve its competitiveness within the telecommunication industry.
The main objective of these projects is to define, implement,
experiment and evaluate methodologies, tools, platforms and
industrial testbeds for the support of conformance and
interoperability testing, protocol validation, QoS evaluation,
stress tests, and performance evaluation of new generation networks.
Major partners in these R&D projects are Siemens, Vodafone,
Alcatel Sel and Bosch.
- REAL IST-2000-30106
The main target of the REAL project was the definition, implementation and performance of
conformance and load & stress testing scenarios towards the Packet Switch (PS) and
Circuit Switch (CS) domains of an established UMTS platform.
- IASON IST-2001-32392
The main target of the IASON project was to design and develop a novel, flexible and highly
efficient system able to operate as a uniform evaluation platform, able to measure
the performance of networks of diverse technology such as ISDN, SS7, ATM, GPRS,
3G UMTS as well as the services provision and any type of interoperability among them.
