Iu-PS Emulator (Compact-PCI version)

The Iu-PS emulator system is a cost-effective testing system that provides the user the means to perform advanced traffic tests for the performance evaluation of the Iu-Packet Switched (PS) interface. It simulates several Radio Network Control (RNC) nodes by generating signaling and data traffic, over the Iu-PS interface, towards the Core Network under test.

User Plane Features

  • Support of  4 STM-1 physical interfaces
  • Emulation of up to 4 RNCs
  • Traffic rate per physical interface up to 155.52 Mbps
  • Total traffic rate up to 400 Mbps
  • IP over AAL5 traffic generation and analysis
  • Parallel support of 4096 AAL5 traffic channels
  • User level statistics for 4096 subscribers

   Control Plane Features

  • Signaling rate up to 10 Mbps
  • Support of more than 2.000.000 Busy Hour Call Attempts (BHCA)
  • Call activation rate more than 600 calls/sec
  • Emulation of up to 4 RNCs
  • Parallel support of Mobile Originating (MO) and Mobile Terminated (MT) Short Message Services (SMS)
  • SMS rate more than 600 messages/sec

   Control Plane Protocols

  • SAAL protocol according to ITU-T Q.2100-Q.2140
  • MTP protocol according to ITU-T Q.701-Q.704
